Meet Sadie, Chapter’s new wellbeing coach!

What inspired you to join Chapter?

I’ve always had a keen interest in mental health and have lived experience of mental ill health.  More recently I wanted to pursue a career in mental health and when I found out about Chapter, I couldn’t wait to get involved!

What’s the best bit about your work?

I’m fairly new to Chapter, but I can already see that I’ll be working with some amazing colleagues. I’m excited about starting to support service users on their journey.

What’s your own wellbeing go to?

I love swimming.  When I’m in the water swimming is my soul focus and it’s a great stress reliever.  When I haven’t been able to make it to the pool during the pandemic, I’ve focused more on mindfulness, which really helps banish those nasty thoughts and keep the calm.

Sadie, tell us something unusual, or unexpected, about you that not many people would know.

I’m a fluent Welsh speaker and was educated through the medium of Welsh.  I’m really proud of my Welsh heritage.

What’s your favourite inspirational quote for life?

When one door closes another window opens

What 3 things are you most grateful for:

Family, friends and laughter

Any noteworthy professional associations / qualifications?

I have a Masters degree in Archaeology.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about contacting Chapter for support?

Sometimes it’s really hard to ask for help and it might seem really scary at first, but the team at Chapter are so friendly and there’s so many ways we can help.
