What inspired you to join Chapter?
I wanted to be involved with a charity which offers services for every step of the wellbeing journey. From a telephone listening service, to coaching and group activities, Chapter are a positive force in our local community, and I am very grateful to be part of such a fantastic team
What’s the best bit about your work?
I’m fairly new to Chapter, but I am already enjoying learning all about the organisation and meeting service users.
What’s your own wellbeing go to?
Exercise and fresh air, ideally sea air but any old air will do.
Sally, tell us something unusual, or unexpected, about you that not many people would know.
I never thought I was very competitive, but I recently started dragon boat racing. I really enjoy getting out onto the water, having a good work out and beating the other boat!
What’s your favourite inspirational quote for life?
I don’t have one to be honest, partly because I have a very bad memory. So, I went looking for one and found three 😊
You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.
As soap is to the body, so laughter is to the soul.
Thoughts aren’t fact so don’t take them seriously.
What 3 things are you most grateful for:
Family, laughter and beach walks.
Any noteworthy professional associations / qualifications?
I’m a mental health fist aider and part time student – currently studying a master’s degree in psychology.
What would you say to someone who is thinking about contacting Chapter for support?
The team at Chapter are hugely friendly, approachable, and caring, and we have services to suit everyone.
