Your vote could help Chapter win £20,000 to fund a new wellbeing project

Chapter Mental Health has been shortlisted for a £20,000 prize from Severn Trent, which could go towards providing outdoor wellbeing activities for the local community.

As part of the Severn Trent Community Fund, the UK water company will be awarding £250,000 of grants to local projects that reduce carbon emissions and impact the environment.

Chapter has been nominated for the fund’s Gold award with their project Growing Together, which will provide activities for people with mental ill-health to work together at Chapter’s allotment site in Chester.

Growing Together is a project that allows people to explore a new hobby, enjoy the outdoors and make new friends, whilst helping to renovate the allotment and have a positive effect on the environment.

Anyone in the Severn Trent region, which includes households in the Chester region, will be able to vote for Chapter at: www.stwater.co.uk/publicvote

Jim Creed, Grant Fundraiser at Chapter, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for the prestigious Severn Trent Community Fund Awards. The funding would make a huge difference to the people we support and would help us to develop our allotment site in Chester.

“The award would be used to improve the natural environment, reuse rainwater to help grow plants, and offer outdoor gardening activities for people living with mental ill-health.”

Severn Trent Community Fund Officer Natalie Cunningham said: “The fund will create some fantastic opportunities for communities right across the region to get some nature positive projects up and running. And the best part is that all of our wonderful customers get to vote on their favourite project and have the final decision on which projects are successful.”
